Injector liners

Injector liners for Centri are optimised for the various injection modes, and sit in the inlet where samples are introduced to the flow path. O-rings sit above and below the liner to create a seal. Depending on the injection mode, an additional O-ring or septum is used to seal the inlet before capping with a mode-specific injector cap.

Overview

For headspace and SPME, a septum is used to seal the inlet, followed by an injector cap. For HiSorb, an additional O-ring is used in place of the septum (U-COV201). Replacement injector caps can be found with ‘Centri consumables’.

The HiSorb liner has 5 mm i.d. with a single restriction/taper. One for general use is provided in the Centri shipping kit and can accommodate HiSorb probes, headspace syringes, SPME fibers and SPME Arrows of 1.1 mm and 1.5 mm o.d. when refocusing on the trap ahead of GC injection. When injecting direct to GC without refocusing on the trap, an optimised injector liner is recommended.

The headspace liner has 4 mm i.d. with a single taper to accommodate headspace syringe needles. The SPME liner has 1.2 mm i.d. and is a straight-through liner to accommodate SPME fibers and 1.1 mm o.d. SPME Arrows. For SPME Arrows with 1.5 mm o.d., the use of the headspace liner is recommended. This also allows automation of SPME, SPME Arrow and headspace in a single analytical sequence.
