Fundamentals of environmental air monitoring: Overcoming challenges in VOC analysis with advanced GC–MS techniques
Webinar
Webinar overview
Environmental air specialists face increasing challenges in monitoring volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs and SVOCs). Evolving regulatory demands and complex compound lists both increase complexity of sampling and analysis. From hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to emerging contaminants like PFAS and microplastics, the need to deliver accurate, reliable data with robust, future-proof methods is greater than ever.
In this webinar, Markes’ environmental specialist, Aaron Davies, will explore how advanced techniques for thermal desorption–GC–MS, including a range of sorbent and whole air samplers, simplify VOC monitoring and enhance data confidence. Attendees will learn how these methodologies address key challenges, aid compliance with stringent regulations, and provide a scalable solution for environmental air monitoring of a wide range of compounds. Discover how to future-proof your analytical workflows and stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.

Dr Aaron Davies
Commercial Marketing Manager, Markes International
Aaron Davies is the Commercial Marketing Manager for thermal desorption at Markes International. After graduating from Cardiff and Monash Universities with a PhD in Chemistry, Aaron has worked in industry as a Process and Product Development Chemist, GC GC/MS Product Specialist before finally focusing on his passion for thermal desorption. In his role, Aaron assists customers and partners on the effective use of thermal desorption for simplifying sample preparation and the benefits of using alternative carrier gases (such as hydrogen and nitrogen) to helium.
