Monitoring volatile gases released during PFAS destruction in accordance with US EPA OTM-50

Application Note 177

Accurate VFC monitoring to support PFAS destruction and environmental compliance

Effective destruction of PFAS is essential to prevent the release of volatile fluorinated compounds (VFCs), which can harm both human health and the environment.

To support this, the US EPA has developed OTM-50 – a method for monitoring VFCs from stationary sources.

This application note shows how Markes’ cryogen-free UNITY–CIA Advantage-xr with Kori-xr meets the method’s stringent performance criteria, delivering ultra-low detection limits and robust, repeatable data to support regulatory compliance and PFAS remediation efforts.
