How can you extend analyte range without affecting peak shape?
Instant Insight 002
Forward-flow thermal desorption systems – those in which the direction of the sampling flow onto the trap is the same as the desorption flow – have, in the past, been widely used.
However, the traps can only be packed with a single sorbent, which means that it is very difficult to achieve a broad single-run analyte range without impacting peak shape.
In this Instant Insight, we explain how this problem can be solved with backflush operation, which provides a broad single-run analyte range at the same time as excellent peak shape and analytical recovery.
