Analysis of trace volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odour in post-consumer recycled resins by thermal desorption and GC×GC–TOF MS
On-demand webinar
Event Overview
With the global push towards a circular economy, there are renewed efforts to recycle plastics and to use post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, especially in food packaging. However, there are numerous challenges in
This webinar shows how thermal desorption (TD) and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TD-GC×GC-TOF MS) can provide detailed characterization of complex odor and volatiles profiles from PCR resins, as well as confident taste and odor analysis of the packaged products.
Key Learning Objectives
- Find out the challenges involved in the analysis of post-consumer recycled plastics
- Learn how TD-GC×GC-TOF MS can improve detection of trace odorants
- See how novel software workflows can uncover hidden differences between VOC profiles
- Explore real world examples of taste and odor analysis applied to bottled beverages
Who Should Attend
- GC users who want to find out more about GC×GC
- Polymer scientists who want to understand more about odors from recycled plastics
- Food and aroma analysts who want to enhance their ability to analyze complex VOC profiles
