The event, sponsored and supported by GE Aviation Wales, Caerphilly, and now in its 20th year, involves climbing the three highest Welsh mountains in a single day, with a total ascent of 2860 metres.

The eight-strong Markes team started at 4am by climbing Snowdon, followed by Cadair Idris, before heading south to Pen y Fan to complete the challenge just before sunset.

Markes' contributions

In recognition of the essential work done by Tŷ Hafan in caring for children with life-limiting illnesses, Markes covered the team’s transport costs and contributed supplies on the day.

Tim Hawkins, Markes’ Managing Director, says “We’re very proud of our staff for completing this gruelling challenge, and are delighted to donate this sum to such a worthwhile cause. As a company with a strong sense of social responsibility, we have supported Tŷ Hafan and other local charities on numerous occasions in the past, and we look forward to doing more of the same in the future.”
