Markes International adds gas sampling bags to support flexible air monitoring and research

Markes International has expanded its portfolio of air sampling products with the introduction of high-quality gas sampling bags, now available in both Tedlar® and multi-layer inert foil formats. The new range complements Markes’ broad offering of products for active (pumped) and diffusive (passive) sorbent tube air sampling, canister and on-line air sampling and other sampling technologies, such as SPME and high-capacity sorptive extraction (HiSorb®) – giving analysts the flexibility to choose the most suitable approach for their application. Fully compatible with all online- and canister-enabled thermal desorption (TD) systems, the bags provide a useful alternative in scenarios where traditional tube-based sampling may be less effective – for example, with very volatile compounds.
Gas sampling bags also offer a practical solution where canisters may be too bulky or costly. Although canisters are often required for regulated methods such as US EPA Method TO-15, bags are particularly valuable in research-led applications such as environmental screening, industrial hygiene and biomarker discovery work – where portability and speed of deployment are key. They are also increasingly used in emerging areas such as hydrogen fuel purity testing.

Available in 1 L, 2 L, 5 L and 10 L sizes, the bags are constructed from inert materials to preserve sample integrity and reduce the risk of contamination. Each bag includes a robust polypropylene valve and comes with a protective mesh sleeve for safe transport.
