Syringes - HS
A selection of headspace (HS) syringes are available from Markes for accurate transfer of small volumes of gas onto the head of the GC column, either manually or via automated platforms such as Centri. The syringes are compatible with CTC PAL3 tools, enabling use on automated systems, and can also be used to load gas standards onto tubes using the Calibration Solution Loading Rig (CSLR).

Overview
Syringes can be used for both manual and automated headspace sampling, as well as introduction of gas standards to thermal desorption tubes for calibration.
Consistent transfer volumes and loading methods ensure repeatability and allow comparison of data. The gas-tight seal prevents sample contamination or loss of sample during transfer, and the zero-dead-volume design ensures that the sample is completely swept from the barrel, minimising syringe carryover and reducing the need for flushing and washing of syringes. Syringes can maintain performance up to 150°C and through temperature cycling.
