Advancements in near-real-rime monitoring for chemical warfare agents: enhancing detection and field deployment capabilities
Presented at CBRNe World, USA, 2024
The TT24-7NRT system sets a new standard for near-real-time (NRT) monitoring of chemical warfare agents (CWAs), ensuring continuous, sensitive detection of airborne threats in critical environments such as stockpile destruction sites and recovery programmes. By employing advanced tandem trapping technology, the system eliminates sampling gaps, delivering uninterrupted data with exceptional accuracy. Its integration with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) enables reliable identification and separation of compounds, even in complex samples, with detection limits as low as 1 × 10⁻⁷ mg/m³. This capability exceeds worker protection and general population safety thresholds, making it invaluable for safeguarding health and responding to threats.
Optimised for field use, the TT24-7NRT combines cryogen-free cooling and on-site gas generation, supporting helium, hydrogen, or nitrogen carrier gases. This flexibility ensures uninterrupted operation while reducing costs and dependency on gas cylinders. Hydrogen, in particular, accelerates analysis by up to 40% without compromising sensitivity, enabling faster alerts. Designed for remote or covert applications, the system’s autonomous operation and minimal maintenance requirements enhance its usability in demanding conditions. With rapid, precise results and robust reliability, the TT24-7NRT provides a vital tool for protecting public safety and supporting forensic and research needs.
